Project finshed

Finally finished everything - graphics, programming, and even putting it up the internet! Here's the link to my hypercomic: http://www.williamsiah.com/littlebighero/

It may take sometime to load as the file is quite big.

I thank everyone who helped me out, gave me support to accomplish my final project. Although a bit different from my initial ideas and development, it is a good learning process and I feel satisfied about it.

Major programming solved

I am relieved to solve the problems of my Action Script with the help of my classmate, Evie. But there are still minor glitches which I am unable to solve no matter how I try, such as resolution problems and getting my comic panels to move as it should be. I will try to look for my tutor - Yi Wei to help me solve those errors although I am not scheduled under his tutorial sessions. Sweii has been kind enough to arrange tutorial sessions with him for the weeks to come just to help me with my project.

Programming

After finishing all the graphics, I found out that I am facing problems programming my hypercomic. Although it looks easy, but to achieve the desired effect I want is quite complicated. I will try programming it on my own first through online tutorials and help from my classmate. Hopefully it is not as bad as I feared.

Grey scale

After finished all the graphics, I try to color them with grey scale. The reason of color the the comic in grey scale instead of color is because when people judge thing in the first place, their experiences instantly become part of the lens through which we view our entire past then use it to judge if the other is right or wrong. By using grey scale, I want to bring out that sometimes when thing happens there are some reason behind it, we cant just judge them by our experience and perspective, we need to think deeper and there might some other reason. Sometime when you think the things is wrong but others might think is correct, there is no completely right or wrong when comes to judging.

Below are some panels that i have color :

Tutorial 4

During the 4th tutorial session,i have shown my digital outline and i edit the interactive questions.
And i received the feed back as below:
1. the graphic is better than the story board
2.Nice panel's arrangement
3. The questions somehow is not very suit for the content, can try on other way to ask the question or use back the previous 1.

Here are some panels that i have done by using Phontoshop

For the next step, i need to finish all the graphics and try to color it in grey tone in the study break.

Workflow references:Nike: Liu Xiang-More than a Flying Man

This interactive hyper comic was actually done by a China agency Wieden + Kennedy Shanghai. The creative unit collaborated with artist and animator Anthony Francisco Schepperd.
They start with work with sketch and storyboard, then digitized in A4 size paper with the panels layout and color as shown below.

After the graphics were done, then it will readjust the panels again to fit the screen and looks more dynamic on the internet. The final step is programming, add in animations and sounds.

With this work flow references, I can use it as a guild line to work in my final project as my project is similar to this.
